In this lesson students are invited to artfullyconnect, communicate, respond, experiment, and discover new ways to engage in thisancient but very human impulse to represent self and culture.Students will create 2D (gesture drawings) to render the form, working from a modeland from their imagination to bring content and personal imagery into their work.Learning objectives: By the end of the lesson students will:o Reflect on the human form (self, other and through history).o Know that gesture sketching is used for active thinking -- Most artists plantheir artworks in a gesture sketching style.o Become familiar with the terminology utilized in gesture drawing and workingfrom the figure, ink wash renderings and modeling.o Learn techniques of gesture drawing utilizing a model.o Learn methods of charcoal and black felt pen.o Learn methods of ink wash renderings.o Engage in class critiques.o Develop vocabulary and verbal English skills.
