  9. 9. ● Wikipedia has an extremely high domain authority, since it is a “trusted” site by Google. “A core part of Google’s algorithm uses links from trusted websites.” ● “Not only is it a trusted link in Google’s eyes, it is also a great source of traffic.” Even links below the bulk of the each page’s content, can get attention. For SEO expert Jon Cooper, “one link [can provide] 50 visitors a week for a small niche website. The value isn’t in question, it’s how you can get your links on the page.” ● “Wikipedia pages rank for half of all searches, which creates a feedback loop. Wikipedia pages rank so well because people link to them. They continue to rank even better for a wider range of searches because high ranking pages get more links.” ● “Journalists and other experts read Wikipedia and so there is a big amplification effect. People will notice the link and link to it themselves, because they see it there and repeat what is said in Wikipedia. It is a very powerful social media.” Jonathan Hochman—SEO consultant Adapted from: 1. http://www.shivarweb.com/3632/how-to-use-wikipedia-for-seo/ 3. http://pointblankseo.com/wikipedia-seo-purposes 2. . http://searchengineland.com/the-art-of-seo-for-wikipedia-16-tips-to-gain-respect-11126 Did you know? A 2007 study by Google revealed that information on Wikipedia was almost as accurate as that in the Encyclopedia Britannica. Hints: The Impact
