  4. 4. sec(θ) = Hypotenuse / Adjacent(=1/cos) cosec(θ) = Hypotenuse / Opposite(=1/sin) cot(θ) = Adjacent / Opposite(=1/tan)

  7. 7. The sine and cosine functions are fundamental to the theory of periodic functions such as those that describe sound and light waves. It is used in navigation to find the distance of the shore from a point in the sea.
