  2. 2. What is an advert <br />An advert is used to promote and sell a product. It is a way of presenting information about a product or service to an audience. The advert should be presented in such away that it increases the sales of the product. There are many advertising techniques used to grab the attention of the audience. <br />
  3. 3. Different mediums of advertising <br />You can advertise products in many different ways. Ie <br />Magazines <br />Newspapers <br />Radio <br />T.V <br />Internet <br />Bill Boards <br />Posters <br />Side of a bus / at a bus stop <br />Flyers <br />Shop Windows <br />
  4. 4. Mise-en-scene !<br />Mise – en – scene is vital in advertising. Mise – en –scene is make up of two main elements the AIDA principle and a technique call CLAMPS <br />
  5. 5. With out the AIDA Principle being included in the advert the product<br />wouldn’t sell the AIDA Principle makes the advert complete. <br />AIDA stands for <br />ATTENTION - The advert needs to attract the customers attention (like a fit guy attracts a girls attention)<br />INTREST – The advert needs to be interesting (looking good always help but the guy needs to be interesting) <br />DESIRE – The advert has got to make you want the product ( the boy need to pull you in) <br />ACTION - its your choice to go and buy the product( there will always be another girl wanting your guy you need to get there first) <br />AIDA Principle <br />
  6. 6. CLAMPS !<br />The technique Clamps is also vital in advertising. CLAMPS stands for<br />COSTUME- The person posing in the advert needs to look right<br />LIGHTING- Depending on the shot the lighting needs to be right ie if you selling a beauty product you need a bright nice shot <br />ACTORS – A lot of advertising is often done by celebrities they do this because some people desire to be like celebs <br />MAKE UP- Make up is used to make the model look good and create the right affect <br />PROPS- The prop is basically the product <br />SETTING – The setting is where the model poses ie if your adverting a holiday in Spain, you take a picture of a place in Spain. <br />
