Windows 8: Set custom icon image

  1. 1. Change Icon image in Windows 8 This presentation will show you how to swap the default icons into your desired images or pictures in windows 8 OS. Here are the necessary steps to change the icons. Follow the steps and do it yourself.
  2. 2. At first you have to convert your image file into .ico format. They many converter is available in the internet. http://www.icoconverter.com/ is one of them. Open the converter. Choose your file to convert, choose the file size, and choose “Bit Depth”. Click Convert.
  3. 3. After converting your image into .ico format, choose the ICON you want to change image. Right click on the ICON you want to change and click Properties. Here in this example we are changing Googel Chrome icon. Now click the Short cut tab and then click “change icon button”.
  4. 4. Now locate the image file you want to make as icon and select that .ICO file you have created or converted with converter. Now click the “Open” button. Now in the “Change Icon” window click OK. Now you will be back to “Google Chrome Properties” window and you have to click “Apply”
