  • (Psa 100:1) A Psalm of praise. WhatisPraise?<br />Praise: To commend, applaud, magnify; The extolling or exaltation of a deity, ruler, or hero.<br />John 4:24 - God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. <br />One cannot be a true worshipper without first entering a gateway of praise! Praise transports us into the realm of the supernatural and into the power of God.<br />

The Loosing Power of Praise<br />Act 16:22-26<br />And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them. <br />And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely: <br />Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks. <br />And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. <br />And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed. <br />

Living a Life of Praise<br />Psalm 34:1 - I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. <br />Hebrews 13:15 - By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. <br />Praise is a “sacrifice,” something that we offer to God sacrificially, not just because we feel like it, but because we believe in Him and wish to please Him.<br />

Praiseis a Weapon!<br />Because praise invokes the presence of God, it is an effective weapon against the enemy, who is always defeated when God shows up!<br />Psalm 50:23 - Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.<br />

Tangible Benefits of Praise<br />His Presence: When you praise and worship God, you are bringing down His presence, because he inhabits the praises of His people (Psalm 100:4).<br />His Power: When you praise and worship God, He manifests his power (Acts 16:30-31). His power saves, heals, and delivers.<br />His Glory: When you praise and worship God, the Glory of God comes down (1 Kings 8:10-11).<br />His Anointing: When you praise and worship God, the anointing of God descends upon His servants. Because of this they are able to minister more effectively. (II Kings 3:15-16).<br />His Deliverance: When you praise and worship God, the deliverance power of God comes into play (II Chronicles 20:1-20). God comes down to deliver His people as they praise and worship Him.<br />

Expressions of Praise<br />Declaring of thanks (Heb. 13:15)<br />Clapping hands and shouting (Psalms 47:1)<br />Musical instruments and dancing (Psalms150:4)<br />Singing praise songs (Psalms 9:11)<br />Psalms, hymns, & spiritual songs (Eph. 5:19-20)<br />Making a joyful noise (Psalms 98:4)<br />By lifting our hands (Psalms 134:2)<br />By being still (Psalms 4:3-5, 46:10) <br />By being loud (Psalms 33:3, 95:1-6)<br />

WORSHIP – The Ultimate Goal<br />PRAISE IS THE GATEWAY TO WORSHIP<br />God’s presence must show up in the midst of praise in order for worship to take place<br />Worship requires and EXCHANGE between the God and the worshipper<br />We worship in “Spirit” and in “truth” (John 4:24)<br />God is a Spirit, so worship is a spiritual experience birthed from the physical sacrifice of praise<br />In worship:<br />Things change!<br />God gives instruction, direction and revelation.<br />The power of the Holy Ghost is activated.<br />
