Mempools ● A mempool is an organized queue where transactions are stored and sorted before being added to a newly created block. ● The memory pool holds “fresh” or unconfirmed transactions (stored as individual transactions). ● The blockchain holds “archived” or confirmed transactions (packaged in “blocks”).

Leaders Responsibilities ● Epoch Leader: Single leader to transmit un-confirmed transactions to 25 slot leaders per epoch. ● Slot Leader: Multiple leaders for every 400 packets, segregate un-confirmed transactions in token-specific pools and transmit authorized packets with collateral of the tokens in First-In-First-Out method ● Packet Leader: Receive and mint authorized un-confirmed transactions and attest the block to the chain while sending it to other validators for confirmations.
  4. 4. Types of Mempools ● Global Mempool - Epoch, Slot Leaders (Contains every token’s transaction) ● Local Mempool - Packet Leaders (Contains specific tokens) ● Transactions are sent via epoch leader - slot leader - packet leader

How it works ● Epoch leaders maintain all unconfirmed transactions from client applications ● Slot leaders retrieve the data from epoch leaders and segregate them for each packets in their group of 400 ● Slot leaders send data to packet leaders using FIFO method according to their collateralized packets for their authorized tokens
  6. 6. To note ● For null packets, the slot leaders can assign the unconfirmed transactions to next packet leaders ● Epoch leaders can validate the unconfirmed transactions such as only one token per transaction (unless it's blinkcoin, users can use two tokens) ● Transactions will be linear, avoid front running.
