Many of our children have a very limited understanding of the workplace and what is available in the world of work. I want to widen their thinking and use these businesses to inspire them. Impact “ ” We looked at all lessons being delivered in our computing science classrooms and incorporated many of the Education Scotland gender resources for computer science into the curriculum. We invited four female business leaders via Founders4Schools and made no apologies for only inviting our S1 girls to this event to hear from these strong female role models. We recently repeated this encounter as part of Ada Lovelace day. As a result of this positive discrimination I am very proud that the number of girls studying computer science in Stirling High has risen from 24% to 46% in the last year.
