Events of the academic year 2021-2022
The Single window counselling applications for the academic year 2021-2022were issued
online from 13.09.21 to 22.09.21.
Our college was appointed as District Facilitation Centre and 108 students uploaded their
online applications through the centre.
The academic year commenced for the first-yearstudents on 18.11.21 andsecond-year
students on 25.10.21.

Teacher, MC higher secondary school, Madurai on 02.06.2022.
English Association
A Virtual guest lecture on “A Digital transformation of English Education in the new
normal” was organised on 05.02.2022. Dr.K.J.Vargheese, Associate Professor, Christ
College (Autonomous) Irinjalakuda, Kerala was the resource person.
Student teachers witnessed the English Play “The tempest staged by the Department of
English, Thiagarajar College on 20.04.2022.
A Guest lecture on „Lingua Skill – Cambridge Assessment was conducted by Mr.Zenith,
Language Trainer on 16.05.2022.
A Spell Bee competition was organised on 15.06.2022.
Mathematics Association
On account of National Mathematics Day, a special lecture on “Ramanujan‟s Math-
Magic‟ was delivered by Mrs. KalaiMathi, Assistant Professor of Mathematics,
Thiagarajar College, Madurai on 20.12.2022.Pi Day Celebrations was held on
14.03.2022.

Science Association
Students attended the Energy Swaraj Campaign organised by Dr.Chethan Singh Solanki,
IIT Bombay at Thiagarajar School of Management on 11.04.2022.
History Association
Students took an oath on Social Justice-day on 17.09.2021. A guest lecture on “Indian
Heritage” was jointly organised with Vivekananda Kendra, Madurai on 07.01.2022.
Dr.S.Geetha was the resource person.
Red Ribbon Club
An online Induction and AIDS Awareness programme was conducted by Mr. P.
Jeyapandi, District Programme Manager, DAPCS- TANSACS, Collectorate, Madurai on
06.02.21. The Red Ribbon Club of Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University, Chennai
joined hands in conducting Madurai Zonal Level Training Programme for RRC
Programme Officers of Colleges of Education on 30.03.21. 45 programme officers of
various Colleges of Education affiliated to TNTEU from six districts namely Madurai,
Virudunagar, Ramnad, Dindigul, Sivagangaiand Theni participated in the programme.
Mr. P. Jeyapandi, District Programme Manager, DAPCS- TANSACS, Collectorate,
Madurai and Ms. Pandialakshmi, Trainer, NGO were the resource persons.
Women Development Cell
Guest lecture on “Women Empowerment” was delivered by Mrs. Shyamala Annamalai,
Student Counsellor and Head administration, Mary Ann Matriculation School, Madurai
on 12.02.2022.
Eco Club
A guest lecture on “Role of youth in protecting the environment” was delivered by
K.T.Loganathan, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, AlagappaChettiar,
Government College of Engineering and Technology (Autonomous), Karaikudi on
31.12.2021.
A special webinar on “Coping with Stress through Siddha Varmam Therapy” was
delivered by Dr.K.Elavarasan, Assistant Professor, RVS Sidha Medical College Hospital,
Coimbatore on 12.02.2022.

World Environmental Day was celebrated with the student‟s debate on “Has
Environmental Education created an impact on students” on 06.02.2022.Students planted
saplingson campus.
Film Club
The film club was inaugurated with the screening of the National Award-Winning film
“KutramKadithal” on 11.02.2022.
A documentary titled “Oli NilalNadivul Nangal” was screened on 03.06.2022. A
discussion with the Director Mr.A.V.Saranraj followed.
Placement and Training Cell
A guest lecture on Handwritingan analysis on “Child Safety” by Mr.Jeyanth, Hand
Writing Analyst for the second year students on 13.10.2021 and first-year students on
11.12.2021.
An orientation on Vivekanandha Kendra Schools was organised on 23.05.2022.
11 schools visited on campus and 6 schools off campus and offered placement orders for
37 students for the academic year 2021-22.
Readers Club
An information literacy programme was organisedon December 22.12.2021 Dr.N.Sundar
was the resource person.
Book Review sessions were held on 20.04.2022 and 03.06.2022.
An industrial visit to Hindu Newspaper was organised on 07.05.2022.

The IQAC of our college functions in planning, guiding and monitoring Quality
Assurance (QA) and Quality Enhancement (QE) activities of the colleges.
ISO second surveillance audit was conducted by Mr.Prabakaran and Mr.Ram Prasad,
Auditors, Bureau Veritas on 23.08.2021. An Iso Recertification virtual audit was
conducted by Mr.Jeyachandran and Mr.Ram Prasath, Auditors, Bureau Veritas

Thiagarajar College of Preceptors, Maduraiis registered in Swayam NPTEL local chapter
since the year.
The TCP Edu Spectra e- journal with ISSN released its eighthissue on February 2022.
The College has a dynamic website with more than 1 lakhvisitor counts and details
fulfilling NCTE regulations, a very active Facebook page with 459 posts in this academic
year and 2438posts overall for college activities. The college YouTube channel was
updated with 30 videos in this academic year taking the total tally to133and has crossed
1000 subscribers,60,000 views, and 2500 watch hours so far.
An Institutional digital repository was created using Fliphtml5 and all the IQAC
publications of our college were updated on the platform. All faculty members registered
their profiles in the Vidwan Portal for their academic visibility and it was integrated with
Indian Research Information Network System.

Anuppanadi, Madurai on 01.09.2021 & 25.11.2021.

Department of Education, Government of India in collaboration with DIET, Madurai on
12.11.2021.

submitted the results.
