The program opens with an overview of the critical role played by performance review discussions in the performance management system of most organisations. Participants analyse the best practices of planning for a performance review. They practice effective techniques for facilitating participative performance review discussions with members of their staff. Participants analyse organisation’s performance appraisal models and examine the benefits of following up a performance review by monitoring the progress of the agreed plan of action. Participants analyse the best practices for giving feedback and apply techniques for giving effective feedback. Finally, the critical roles of coaching, counselling, and mentoring in managing performance is analysed by participants. Skill-building role plays and activities, allow participants the opportunity to demonstrate the learning derived from the various sessions of the program. Apply the four-step process for leading an effective performance review discussion N.
