SHE HAS RECEIVED AN INVITATION TO PURSUE A PHD IN DISABILITY SPORTS AT LOUGHBOROUGH UNIV UK, FIRST EVER IN THE SUBJECT IN INDIA.

  36. 36. DO NOT THINK IT IS EASY  Training 24 X 7  Everything is key from morning till night  Have to manage bladder and bowel movements.  Taking meals carefully  With training have to follow with prolonged physiotherapy session to relieve the spasms.

  40. 40. • At 45 - oldest member of the country’s Paralympic Games team this year. • Began taking sports seriously at 36. • The only Indian woman to win a medal in the Games — EVER AGE IS IRRELEVENT
  41. 41. PARENT BY EXAMPLE Though need support in managing the body, but daughters have seen my training furiously.
  42. 42. BRING UP SPORTY GIRLS Girls and sports is the biggest and the best short cut to women’s empowerment. Every time a sporty girl takes the time out to play, she’s learning the art of balancing. A competitive spirit, how to take defeat, how to celebrate your win with the person you have defeated, teamwork, confidence and the ability to stay fit, this is what you learn.
