Did you know that by 2025 there is expected to be one tonnes of plastic for every three tonnes of fish in the ocean? The root cause of ocean plastic stems from the fact that some 3.5 million people lack access to crucial waste management services. ( World Bank, 2010 )

Plastics For Change has developed a deal process and mobile platform for increasing recycling rates by ensuring urban waste pickers have fair market access to recycling. The trading platform builds trust and transparency through the supply chain to create a mutually beneficial process for all stakeholders.

Just as fair trade agriculture helps to increase the value of produce for farmers, our mobile platform ensures urban waste picker are paid a fair trade rate. By providing fair market access to recycling in developing regions, our platform helps to increase recycling rates, reduce plastic pollution, while creating dignified jobs for the urban poor.

Companies may source consistent supplies of high quality recycled plastic through the platform and use the Plastics For Change brand to gain a competitive advantage in the marketplace.

Plastics For Change is expanding the platform in partnership with experienced NGOs in communities throughout Asia. Please email andrew@plasticsforchange.org for more information.
