7. 7. Other trips that are really nice would be the Orca Island to Three Alpine Glacier paddle which is about 5 hours. It is from 11 AM to about 5 PM and we take the water taxi over to Orca Island area (about a 25 minute run); and sightsee on the way there. We drop you off in that area, and paddle the rock formations; the salmon stream area and over by a beautiful waterfall. Then we go from that cove to Thumb Cove where there are 3 alpine glaciers, another salmon stream; beautiful waterfall to paddle by; and also a hidden waterfall to hike into (about a 10 minute hike). When we come back, if you like, we can add on a half day fishing trip for everyone. (From Millers Landing Website)

Day Four 7/21/11
Travel to Seward, have a day on the town.
Anyone interested can go fishing with Millers Landing for an additional fee.
There is many places to go in Seward, including shops, and the Alaska Sea Life Center.
8. 8. Day Five 7/22/11
Free day in Kenai region, possibilities of visiting Native American Culture centers in the Kenai region.
9. 9. Day Six 7/23/11
Wake up, drive to Anchorage, stop for one to two hours, go to Eagle River Nature Center or the Anchorage Coastal Wildlife refuge.
Drive to Denali National park, make camp at the Savage River Campground.
10. 10. Day Seven 7/24/11
Travel to the entrance area of Denali National park.
Check out dog sled demonstrations, go to the Visitor center, listen to ranger talks, take a short hike, etc.
11. 11. Day Eight 7/25/11
Take the Denali National park bus into the heart of the park to see bears, moose, wolfs, dall sheep, and wildflowers.
We have many hiking opportunities from the bus ride.
12. 12. Day Nine 7/26/11
Travel down to Denali State park, to go hiking.
This is where the best views of Mt. McKinley are. We can hike, and may even have a possibility to swim.
13. 13. Day Ten 7/27/11
Travel to the town of Healy, where we will be horseback riding.
Sadly, we cannot ride in the park, but we should still get good views of Mount McKinley and have a ton of fun.
14. 14. Day Eleven 7/28/11
Wake up, drive down to Anchorage, have dinner in the city, and go to the airport, get checked in.
15. 15. Day Twelve 7/29/11
Get on the plane in Anchorage at 1:00 a.m. and go home!
Get home in Boston at 4:30 p.m.
16. 16. Final cost.
17. 17. Deposit
Deposit Is $200
This covers the deposit for the: cars, plane, horseback riding, and kayaking.
18. 18. Fundraising
We have Heritage Day, Christmas Tree Pick Up, and the pancake breakfast.
We are also starting patrol fundraisers.
We have a potential idea of having a troop-wide yard sale.
The Troop has $6000 set aside for the big trip. If 45 people go, they each get $135.
