  2. 2. l dc j Books for All New Practical Chinese Reader gm araiasiziaiazis (car, LiuXun 210mm x 285mm English/ Spanish For Chinese language learners in Grades 1-3 in countries other than China; se| f—taught learners Integrated course Carrying on the major features of Practical Chinese Reader, this series of textbooks is an innovative breakthrough in the field of Chinese textbooks in the new era and new context, which has integrated the author's more than 20 years’ Chinese teaching experience and research findings. The whole series consists of altogether 70 lessons in six volumes, with 50 lessons in Books 1-4 for the beginning and pre—intermediate levels and 20 in Books 5 and 6 for the intermediate level. Being student—centered, this series adopts a circumferential method in the arrangement of its contents, with the language structures, functions and cultural points in it reappearing many times. It stresses the teaching of functional items and covers a wide range of subject matters; the teaching content is divided into sections so that the major part and the supplementary part is clearly separated and that one can easily choose what to learn according to one’s own needs. New Practical Chinese Header has been chosen by many wor| d—famous universities, including Harvard, Stanford, UC Berkeley, University of Toronto, Oxford, Cambridge, University of London, University of Berlin, University of Melbourne and Waseda University. The versions published up to now include the English—annotated simplified characters version and traditional characters version and the versions annotated in Russian, Spanish and Thai. Each volume is composed of three sub—vo| umes, i. e., Textbook, Workbook and Instructor's Manual, supported by such audiovisual products as DVDs, CDs and tapes. In 2010, the second edition of New Practical Chinese Header was launched. Following the general framework of the first edition and integrating the experience got from the practical use of the first edition in overseas classrooms, the second edition presents up—to—date content to the readers and upholds the practical use of language to cultivate students’ ability in cross—cultural communication. Textbook: Each lesson includes the texts, new words, notes, drills and practice, conversation practice, reading comprehension and paraphrasing, phonetics, pronunciation drills, grammar, Chinese characters and cultural note. Workbook: Besides exercises for Chinese characters, it also provides exercises for pronunciation, sentence patterns and vocabulary, as well as the training in the four basic skills, i. e., > listening, speaking, reading and writing for students to use after class. During the preparation of New Practical Chinese Header, we enlisted the assistance of Chinese language teaching experts and non—Chinese experts speaking the corresponding nine foreign languages. Based on the students’ cultural backgrounds of their native languages and the characteristics specific to their study, special attention was paid to differentiating the contents of the text, explanations of the pronunciation, people’s names and illustrations to ensure that it is really suitable for adult beginners speaking different languages to learn Chinese. New Concept Chinese, a series of Chinese textbooks for adults, is suitable for both self—teaching and classroom teaching. Observing the principle of “making Chinese easier to learn”, this series presents practical, concise and interesting teaching materials and employs easy, flexible and effective teaching methods so that students and teachers could learn and teach Chinese in a convenient and effective way. This book aims to help students ‘‘learn the basic Chinese structures and develop comprehensive language skills“ through comprehensive training on their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, with listening and speaking as the priority. The design of the book gives full play to a student—centered, interactive and heuristic mode. The whole series includes Textbooks, Workbooks, Chinese Character Workbooks and Teachers Books. It follows three principles, namely “practical”, “easy” and “scientific”. 1. Practical: common situations; frequently used expressions; up—to—date topics. 2. Easy: interesting content; short texts; humorous cartoons. 3. Scientific: we| |—arranged layout; step—by—step progression; repeated practice. e; ,>C, ,DC_erpI I Textbook 1 “°'g, —“§w Cong‘; Textbook 2 ".3."-: ’l'_I_; m-E5: 210mm x 295mm -‘I 210mm x 295mm 0472414371131 188 pages 1‘§’1’I‘9>1.I’§? iXi%-1 105 pages "7 $29.99 P-V‘_L, ,._~ $29.99 2012-04 , 2013-01 ISBN 978-7-5619-3256-8 Matching with 1 MP3 CD (Included in the book) 1 ISBN 978—7—5619—3379—4 Matching with 1 MP3 CD (Included in the book) 2 ) Textbook 3 - Textbook 4 .
