PETRO KOKUSHTA
Lindi në Tiranë në vitin 1943. Në vitet 1957-1962 ka kryer Liceun Artistik “Jordan
Misja” (Tiranë), për pikturë. Më pas, në vitet 1964-1969 ka përfunduar ILA për
pikturë kavaleti. Menjëherë pas studimeve të larta, në vitin 1970 u emërua pedagog
në Katedrën e Pikturës dekorative dhe monumentale në ILA, detyrë në të cilën
qëndroi deri në vitin 1987, kohë kur u emërua Sekretar i Lidhjes së Shkrimtarëve dhe
Artistëve të Shqipërisë, në seksionin e arteve figurative.
Born in Tirana in 1943. During the years 1957-1962 he studied Painting in the
Lyceum of Arts "Jordan Misja" (Tirana). Later, in the years 1964-1969 he graduated
the Institute of Arts majoring in “cavalette painting”. Immediately after higher
studies, in 1970 he was appointed a lecturer at the Department of Decorative and
Monumental Painting at the Institute of Arts until 1987, when he took over as
Secretary of the Union of Writers and Artists of Albania in the section of figurative
arts.
Ka marrë pjesë në pothuajse të gjitha ekspozitat më të rëndësishme lokale, jubilare
dhe kombëtare, ku ka fituar edhe disa çmime honorifike. Gjithashtu është pjesëmarrës
në disa ekspozita ndërkombëtare, kryesisht nëpër Bienalet e kohës së para viteve ’90.
Sot krijon i lirë dhe ekspozon në veprimtari kolektive, veçanërisht në edicionet e
grupimit artistik “Nëntori”. Krijimtaria e P. Kokushtës kap një diapazon të mirë të
gjinive të pikturës si: kompozimi figurativ, portreti, peizazhi, etj. Shumë vepra të tij
gjënden sot në fondet e GKA, nëpër galeri të rretheve si edhe në koleksione private
dhe institucione shtetërore.
He participated in almost all the most important exhibits local, national and jubilees,
where he also won several honorary awards. He has also participated in several
international exhibitions, mainly in the biennials organized before the '90s. Now he is
a freelance and exhibits in different activities, especially in the editions of artistic
group "November". The creativity of Petro Kokushta captures a good range of genres
of painting such as figurative composition, portrait, landscape, etc… Many of his
works are found today in the National Gallery of Arts, in district gallery, as well as in
private collections and other state institutions.
Në pikëpamje të elementeve të formës artistike, P. Kokushta ka realizuar një pikturë
realiste, por me kërkesa dhe prirje të përherëshme drejt një dekorativiteti të dukshëm
koloristik, ku ngjyrat e paletës së tij i kanë sjellë pikturës që ka realizuar, një status
modern dhe pothuaj jashtë normave të rrepta formale, akademike dhe skolastike.
Gjithësesi, në pikëpamjen tematike piktura e Kokushtës nuk mund të dilte jashtë
kornizave që kërkoi dhe imponoi koha, kur ai realizoi pjesën më të dendur, por edhe
më cilësore të krijimtarisë së tij.
In view of the elements of the artistic genre, Petro Kokushta has realised a realistic
painting, but with permanent demand and trend towards a significant colourist decor,
where his colours pallets have brought his paintings a modern status and almost out of
strict formal, academic and scholastic norms. However, Kokushta’s thematic
paintings can not go outside the framework imposed by the time when he had the
most intense, but also qualitative of his creativity.

Gjatë kohës kur ka qenë pedagog në ILA, P. Kokushta përveç veprimtarisë
mësimdhënëse në disiplinat themelore si: piktura, vizatimi dhe kompozimi, ka marrë
pjesë në këtë institucion edhe si lektor i lëndëve të teorisë së artit e nëpër veprimtari
shkencore në lidhje me artet figurative për procesin e mësimdhënies. Është aktivizuar
gjithashtu edhe në shtypin e specializuar dhe periodik të kohës, me artikuj mbi
problematikën e arteve të figurës në Shqipëri.
During the time when he was lecturing at the Institute of Arts, Petro Kokushta’s
activity was teaching in fundamental disciplines: painting, drawing and composition,
but he also was a lecturer of theory of art, and in other scientific activities related to
fine arts and to the teaching process. He was also active in the periodical specialized
press of the time, with articles on issues of fine arts in Albania.
