Pema-Khandro was recognized by his Eminence Gyaldak
Rinpoche as the present reincarnation (tulku) of a 19th century
yogini. Afforded the opportunity to do so, Pema-Khandro
accepted the title of Pema-Khandro Rinpoche. This recognition is
a way of sustaining lineages, passing on the heritage of Buddhist
predecessors onto current leaders.
