BrightonSEO April 2019 - Forget Alexa, The Voice Search Devices Of The Future

Everyone is interested in voice search these days, but is it really a thing yet and how will it grow as voice permeates into other non-traditional devices? This session will cover how the hype around voice search has grown with the adoption of home assistants, even without fundamental reporting capabilities, and how people are thinking very myopically about the practice altogether. The future of voice search isn’t in home assistants, it’s in a collection of devices yet to be brought to market, and with those devices will come a whole new demographic that brands and marketers need to figure out and cater to, which begs the question, "In the future who will we be marketing to? Our users or their devices?"

  22. 22. +4/15/2019 22 + Hey headphones, I’m hungry, where can I get some good food? You like Italian? I don’t not like Italian! Gino’s is right behind you and has great reviews. According to Yelp you should try the taco pizza! Awesome, let’s get at it!
  23. 23. + I got hungry & asked my voice activated headphones for some recommendations on where to eat. Did a “near me” search Got a list of restaurant types and then confirmed with me if I liked Italian based on proximity. When I confirmed it searched for “Gino’s Italian Restaurant Reviews” & used Yelp to confirm it didn’t suck. Used those same reviews to suggest an item on the menu.
