Belief Beyond Doubt

 1. 1. Belief Beyond Doubt John 4:46-54
 2. 2. Belief Beyond Doubt

John 4:46-49 (NKJV) 46 So Jesus came again to Cana of Galilee where He had made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman whose son was sick at Capernaum. 47 When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to Him and implored Him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death. 48 Then Jesus said to him, Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will by no means believe.” 49 The nobleman said to Him, “Sir, come down before my child dies!”

 3. 3. Belief Beyond Doubt

For 400 years, the time between the Old Testament and the New Testament, God remained silent. Since God had chosen to say nothing the people developed their own words to give themselves contentment and an earthly consciousness of righteousness. The words consisted of Religion, Ritual and Praise and Worship. Each of these has value and significance, however; the most significant word has and will always be the Word of God. It saves, it secures, and it satisfies. Today’s message will center on a few principles that will allow God’s Word to manifest in your life.

 4. 4. Beyond a Reasonable Doubt

Religion – (man’s attempt to reach God), religion is like serving a past tense God

Ritual…the ability to do something but not necessarily possess the proper motive: singing in the choir, attending church, and working in static areas of ministry… ritual is like serving a dead God

Praise & worship do not come out of religion or ritual; they come out of an intentional relationship with God…

 5. 5. Belief Beyond Doubt

John 1:1-5 (NKJV) 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

 6. 6. Belief Beyond Doubt

John 20:30-31 (NKJV) 30 And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; 31 but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.

Believing is the provocateur of all that is God… Mark 9:23 (KJV) Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

 7. 7. Belief Beyond Doubt

Dunamai – to be able, have power whether by virtue of one’s own ability and resources, or of a state of mind, to be capable, strong, and powerful

Pisteuoô – To think to be true, to be persuaded of, to credit, place confidence in, to trust in Jesus or God as able to aid either in obtaining or in doing something: saving faith, to entrust a thing to one, i.e. His fidelity

 8. 8. Belief Beyond Doubt

JOHN 4:46 – THE DEVICE (MECHANISM) PRINCIPLE – it doesn’t matter how blessed you perceive yourself to be, life will always manufacture a need that only Jesus can handle.

JOHN 4:47 – THE DECISION PRINCIPLE – even though he was a nobleman (dignified, decent), his inner constitution suggested that Jesus is the answer ( Isaiah 61:1-3 )

 9. 9. Belief Beyond Doubt

JOHN 4:48 – THE DISPOSITION PRINCIPLE – how much of your living is in the flesh?

Salvation that is based on feelings, dreams, visions, voices, or any other fleshly evidence, is dangerous ground.

2 Thessalonians 2:9-12

 10. 10. Belief Beyond Doubt

JOHN 4:47, 49 – THE DEMAND PRINCIPLE – we have not because we ask not…he was not a recognized follower of Christ, not a disciple, he had not gone to Theology School or Seminary, but he made up his mind that he needed Jesus…

Prayer, Praise, and Presentation

 11. 11. Belief Beyond Doubt

JOHN 4:50A – THE DISTANCE PRINCIPLE – can you or are you able to believe God beyond the present images that have captured your vision or dreams?

 12. 12. Belief Beyond Doubt

JOHN 4:50B – THE DECLARATION PRINCIPLE – if Christ says it…

Resolve it to be true

Reserve your strength or ability to empower disbelief or doubt

Reason it out – for what purpose would God or Christ lie

Rest for awhile in the area where you received the declaration

 13. 13. Belief Beyond Doubt

Romans 10:9-11 (NLT) 9 For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. 11 As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who believes in him will not be disappointed.”

 14. 14. Belief Beyond Doubt

John 6:63 (NKJV) It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.

John 6:68 (NKJV) But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.

 15. 15. Belief Beyond Doubt

Declaration Of Simplicity – Water into wine—salvation is by the Word

Declaration Of Security – Healing the nobleman’s son—salvation is by faith

Declaration Against Suffering – Healing the paralytic—salvation is by grace

 16. 16. Belief Beyond Doubt

Declaration Against Starvation – Feeding the 5,000—salvation brings satisfaction

Declaration Against Storms– Stilling the storm—salvation brings peace

Declaration Against Separation – Healing the blind man—salvation brings light

 17. 17. Belief Beyond Doubt

Declaration Against Stagnation – Raising of Lazarus—salvation brings life

John 10:10 (NKJV) … I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
