Real Estate agents would not be as far as they have gotten without such a powerful ally as the National Association of Realtors. They have such a powerful lobby, I suppose sometimes it's easy to forget the original purpose. To protect the clients that use their members, above and beyond any other trade org could and would. Through sharing and collaboration, keeping the real estate seller and buyer safe from harm. Some members of the Realtor Trade organization don't agree with changes of late, here are a few that I have taken from Google, Twitter and Linkedin. NEW HOUSING IS OKAY IF… • THE LEADS ARE GENERATED TO MEMBERSHIP. • ONLY ALLOWING THE NEW HOME CENTERS, THAT COMPENSATE REALTORS® REPRESENTING THEIR CLIENTS AT NEW HOME CENTERS, TO PARTICIPATE. • EXPANDING, BY CONTENT, ON THE IDEA OF HOW HAVING YOUR OWN REPRESENTATIVE CAN HAVE MORE BENEFITS THAT USING THE BUILDERS AGENT. • NEW HOUSING REVIEWS WRITTEN BY THE LOCAL REAL ESTATE AGENTS SHOULD ALSO BE ALLOWED AND POSTED ALONG THE NEW HOME BUILDERS.

FSBO’S ARE NOT OKAY… • THEY TOTALLY DEFEAT THE PURPOSE OF BEING A REALTOR® IN THE FIRST PLACE. • THERE ARE PLENTY OF SITES, INCLUDING THE “Z” AND “T” THAT ALLOW THEIR POSTING, LET’S BE DIFFERENT AND BETTER. • LEAVE THOSE UP TO THE LOCAL REAL ESTATE AGENTS TO APPROACH AND SELL. • EXCLUSIVITY PAYS BIG DIVIDENDS OFTEN.

BUILD A BETTER BLOG… • “Z” AND “T” ARE POWERED BY UNKNOWING REAL ESTATE AGENTS… • THEY WRITE HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF WORDS OF CONTENT ON THEIR PLATFORMS THAT KEEP THEM AT THE TOP OF THE SEARCH ENGINES. • BUILD THE REALTOR® BLOG BETTER – USE WORDPRESS.ORG AND BLOW THE TOP OFF. • ENCOURAGING SHARING, COLLABORATION AND COMMENTING. • EMBRACE YOUTUBE – SLIDESHARE – AND OTHER HIGH “PR” SITES – YOU ARE REALTOR®.COM!!!!!

PUT THE LOCAL REALTOR FIRST • IN THE LOCAL MARKETS – THE LOCAL AGENTS SHOULD BE AHEAD OF ANY “REALTOR®.COM” SELF PROMOTION. • THE LOCAL REAL ESTATE AGENTS SHOULD BE THE FIRST THAT SHOW UP ON REALTOR®.COM. • THEY SHOULD BE IN THE LIMELIGHT AND HELD IN THE HIGHEST REGARD. • TAKE A STAND ABOUT MONETIZATION WITH REGARD TO SHOWCASED LISTINGS – TELL THE MEMBERSHIP “YOU ARE ALL EQUALLY IMPORTANT”…

DRIVING THE “REAL DATA” • AS FAR AS I KNOW, YOU ARE THE ONLY WEBSITE THAT GETS THE “ACTUAL MLS” DATA. • USE THAT FACT EVERYWHERE. • PEOPLEARE GETTING TIRED OF ACCESSING OLD DATA – YOUR DATA STANDS OUT BECAUSE IT FEEDS DIRECTLY FROM THE SOURCE AND IS NOT SYNDICATED LIKE “Z” AND “T”… • WHILE MOST OF US DON’T AGREE WITH EVERYTHING REALTOR®.COM IS DOING – THEY ARE OUR “MOTHER”AND DESERVE A CHANCE. • LET THE MEMBERSHIP KNOW YOU CARE AND ASK THEIR OPINION IN POLLS OFTEN – THAT WILL GENERATE BUZZ THE OTHERS CANNOT COMPETE WITH.
