What’s your relationship like with your boss or supervisor? If you ask any CEO, most will openly tell you that the key to building a strong, successful business begins with being able to trust your employees to get the job done. Could you imagine what it would be like if an employer couldn’t trust their employees to show up for work or to do an adequate job once they were there? That company would be on the fast track to failure. 9

Imagine what could happen, if employees are treated un-fairly! They will be more negatively affected by their workload. They will have lower productivity. They will have higher levels of conflict. They will be more likely to resort to collective bargaining to solve their problems. Symptoms like these are costly to both the employees and the organization. Most often, we create our judgment of “fairness” by comparing how things are and how things should be! 15

Research shows that people leave their jobs because of a lack of appreciation not compensation! IT IS possible for you to create a workplace where people feel they are listened to, recognized and appreciated, and where profitability grows. 16
  17. 17. Ways of appreciation you may exercise in your Organization Treat people as though they were your most valuable asset, instead of just saying so. You get what you reward. Need we say no more. Listen to everyone but not everything in your company. Find people doing something right and let them know about it as many times a day as possible. Pay attention to peoples work environments, make sure that people have good equipment, furniture and working conditions. Encourage managers to work for their employees, to be the type of managers that employees want to work for because of their commitment to developing their employees personally and professionally. 17
