  2. 2. CHECK TO SEE IF ANYONE IS INJURED The first thing you should always do is check to see if anyone involved in the crash has been seriously injured. If so, call 911 to request emergency medical assistance.

Getting photos that document the positioning of the vehicles, skid marks on the road, and the location and extent of damage to each vehicle can provide important evidence supporting your version of what happened and help prove the other driver caused the crash.
  5. 5. WITNESS CONTACT INFORMATION Make sure to record the names and contact information of any witnesses who may be able to support your version of what happened during the crash.
