  1. 1. Search historical filings of Securities and Exchange Commission filings. Select “Genealogy/ Personal History” http:// aad.archives.gov/aad /
  2. 2. Type and date of SEC records that are searchable.
  3. 3. Query: “james a ford” will return a search with the words in this order, but possibly in different fields.
  4. 4. Terms in two different fields.
  5. 5. Search query for exact personal name: “lastname firstname middleinitial”
  6. 6. Name returned is name of filer, in one field. Results include all companies where this name appears.
