Before Aug 15th 2010 SWM Practices in Cherlapalli • The general garbage from industrial units is being deposited in and around community bins located on street corners arranged by the local authority. • Apart from garbage, the industrial units are depositing the hazardous industrial wastes like used oils, chemical wastes, effluents etc., in the bins, open nalas, and on road sides. • The trimmings of plants, gardens, dry leafs which are bio degradable are also deposited on road sides • The authorized and unauthorized road side commercial establishments are also depositing their garbage indiscriminately on road sides • Apart from this the industrial units and commercial establishments are leaving their effluents, waste water onto the roads causing damage to the roads and creating unhygienic environment in Cherlappali.Aug 24th 2012 PAC - Colloquium on “Citizen voice in Environmental Governance”
