At a Glance:
Dixie Paper Company, founded in 1976, is a leading supplier in the Paper,
Packaging, Sanitary Maintenance Supplies, and Chemical distribution industries
in the Ark-La-Tex region. As a family business they are committed to providing
quality products at competitive prices and their dedication to outstanding
service has helped them become a regional industry leader. A couple of years
ago they realized they needed to upgrade their legacy system, so they turned
to NetSuite and OzLINK.
Key Benefits:
Optimized operations with zone based picking
Streamlined truck loading with wireless fulfillment of orders by
truck route
Improved visibility and inventory control across two warehouse
locations
The Challenge:
Their legacy ERP system Infor A+, was overdue for an upgrade. The operations
team was managing thousands of products across warehouses in Texas and
Louisiana. Their sales reps and support reps would create orders to be fed into
Infor A+, but they could not take e-commerce orders nor could customers get
visibility to order status. The Infor A+ system was simply too rigid and did not
have the architecture or features to support Dixie Paper’s strategic growth
plans. The main issues were:
Poor visibility across the entire company
Lack of flexibility which made it difficult to continuously improve
how customers are serviced
Aging IT platform whose support was becoming a potential risk to
the business
The Solution:
In addition to selecting and implementing NetSuite, Dixie Paper chose OzLINK
Mobile Enterprise to provide wireless receiving and picking using their existing
mobile computers. The real-time connectivity to NetSuite provides streamlined
processes and visibility, ensuring the 15 person warehouse team is operating at
peak performance. The added benefits include:
Orders are picked by truck route, with pickers allocated by zone to drive
higher efficiency
Positioned to provide online customer orders and visibility with real-
time order status based on warehouse activities
Streamlined order fulfillment with ability to handle 300 orders per day
