Editor's Notes

  • That way we can make biosciences more accessible. The open biolab ReaGent starts as you can see on the picture very small.

  • What if we would collect all the discarded lab equipment to build an open biolab?

  • A community that contributes to the ecosystem.
  • Basic tools
  • A way to crowdsource all efforts into something productive
  • That knowledge is translated into workshops, both giving in ReaGent and Magma Nova.
  • In meanwhile, we see there is a big need to make biosciences more accessible in education specifically.

We make the conscious choice to go for change and scale from the start, but take it step by step. Our basic desire is to create an enjoyable environment for ourselves and subsequently change the system, so that others may benefit from this as well.

A second initiative spawned from the initial lab ReaGent: Ekoli.
  • Ekoli develops with the knowledge acquired by ReaGent, Magma Nova and it’s members, courses and workshops about sustainability and circular economy for focusgroups, schoolchildren and teachers.
  • Ekoli also provides teachers and supervisors with resources and skills to raise their activities to a higher level.
