provision of public services.

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020
research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 693849.
Demographic, economic and social
statistics are increasingly available as
open data, but using them is made
difficult by fragmentary, incompatible and
disconnected approaches to publication.
Open Statistics (the systematic study of
open statistical data) aims to make such
data easier to use, whether for statistical
analysis, visualisation or in applications.
Statistical data can best be represented
using the data cube model, in which
different datasets contribute facets to
views of a larger structure. We apply the
data cube model using Linked Data
technologies and vocabularies.
OpenGovIntelligence launched in February
2016 and will run for three years.
We are developing software tools for
creating, expanding and exploiting
Linked Open Statistical Data. Pilots with
government authorities in six countries
will demonstrate and investigate how
statistical data cubes can help create
innovative, data-driven public services.
