(b) Access and preservation platforms for scientific
information:
• supporting the integration and consolidation of e-infrastructure for reliable and
permanent open access to digital scientific records, based on existing initiatives across
Europe (institutional and thematic repositories, aggregators, etc.).
• The European infrastructures need to respond to the emerging requirements for seamless
and reliable access to publications, research data and software. These
requirements are complemented by the need for long term preservation and curation
of scientific information to fully support data and computing intensive science.
The challenge is to support the integration at European level of a robust and sustainable e-
infrastructure, based on existing initiatives across Europe (institutional and thematic publishing
platforms, aggregators, etc.) and services supporting European Open Access policies. An
additional challenge is the building of capacity to link all kinds of digital research
objects in order to enable a more transparent evaluation of research and reproducibility of
results, enabling trust and facilitating access by innovative business actors.

Empower human network
Put Open Access and Open Science policies in everyone’s
agenda
Open Access far from a done deal (EU/EC call for full OA by 2020)
• Empower NOADs with support and services for local policy
formulation and implementation
• Include RDM and DMPs
• Legal services
• Support NOADs to become integral part of emerging National Data
Services
• Synergies with existing networks and e-Infrastructures
Beyond OpenAIRE2020 @ EINFRA Proposer Day, Amsterdam - 19 Jan, 2017
Extend human network
• Geographically
• Israel, Russia, …
• Consolidate international nodes (via COAR -
Coalition of Open Access Repositories, WDS, …)
• Thematically
• Research communities (e.g., AgInfra)
• Research Infrastructures
• JTIs

Digital network
Enable Linked Open Science at all levels
• Interoperability
• Work with other communities towards common interoperability standards
• Support more nodes of becoming OpenAIRE compatible
• Literature, Data, Software, CRIS,…
• Integrate more types of research artefacts
• Software repositories
• Research methods and research artefact packages
• Link to related infrastructures
• Open Education Resources, PSI, Media, …
