  2. 2. 212/10/2018 The EOSC-hub project mobilises providers from the EGI Federation, EUDAT CDI, INDIGO-DataCloud and major research e-infrastructures offering services for advanced data-driven research and innovation. These resources are offered via the Hub – the integration and management system of the European Open Science Cloud, acting as a single entry point for all stakeholders.   3. 3. 3 Simplify access to a broad portfolio of resources and services through an open and integrated service catalogue. Reduce fragmentation of service access and provisioning → through interoperability Consolidate Research e-Infrastructures by improving service quality, and thus increasing innovation capacity. Widen the access to services to all user groups: researchers, students, professionals, innovators, citizens… 12/10/2018 HIGH LEVEL GOALS
  4. 4. 412/10/2018 The project has created the EOSC Hub: a federated integration and management system for EOSC • Data • Applications & tools • Baseline services (storage, compute, connectivity) • Training, consultants • Marketplace • AAI • Accounting • Monitoring From the consortium AND from external contributors • Lightweight certification of providers • SLA negotiation • Customer Relationship Management • Security regulations, • Compliance to standards, • Terms of use, • FAIR implementation guidelines

  6. 6. 6 Run computational jobs at large scale on the EGI infrastructure, like the LHC experiments do. In particular: • Analyse large datasets and execute thousands of parallel computing tasks. • HTC is provided by a distributed network of computing centres, with Virtual Organization based membership • Ask EGI for a Virtual Organization for your community, and join us ! Selected features in EOSC-hub: • Technical support • Capacity via brokering to national HTC providers • Services to federate community-owned HTC clusters High-Throughput Computing (HTC)
  7. 7. 7 Execute Cloud compute- and Data-intensive workloads and much more: ✓Host long-running services (e.g. web servers, databases or applications servers) ✓Create disposable testing and development environments on virtual machines A selection of Features: • Multi-cloud IaaS with Single Sign-On (EGI Federated Cloud) • Run Docker containers (deploy and scale Docker containers on-demand) • Services to federate community-owned cloud resources • Technical support Federated Computing IaaS and PaaS

Provided through EOSC-hub: ● Jupyter Notebook service with ● AoD integration ● Persistent storage ● Customized notebook environments ● Access to other EOSC services from the notebooks …and very fancy things like: Jupyter Notebooks
