Ukrainian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (UVCA) shapes the future direction of the venture capital and private equity industry in Ukraine by promoting its investment opportunities, advocating the interests of private equity investors to policymakers, and improving the local investment and business climate.
• Established by the example of Invest Europe, UVCA currently unites almost 50 members – leaders of the international and Ukrainian investment markets: Almaz Capital, AVentures Capital, Deloitte, Digital Future, Horizon Capital, HP Tech Ventures, Intel Capital, EBRD etc. Our members invest not only capital, but also expertise and innovation, providing strong and sustainable growth to portfolio companies - from startups to established businesses.
• By building bridges between Ukrainian and global ecosystems, UVCA facilitates the motion of knowledge and capital in both directions.
• UVCA makes a constructive contribution to shaping legislation on both pan-industry and sector-specific scales that affect LPs, GPs, and their portfolio companies

THE MAIN UVCA PROJECTS OF 2017 UVCA Challenge: CES Edition 2017 Ukrainian Davos Nights 2017 UVCA Investors Day in Odesa Ukraine Discovery Tour For the first time in the history of CES Ukraine has organized its national expo, where the brightest 8 startups presented their products. UaTech Expo Zone was jointly organized by the Ukrainian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (UVCA) and Western NIS Enterprise Fund (WNISEF) UVCA and its partners have organized  Ukrainian Davos Nights. Events held there on January 16 and January 19 of 2017 gathered more than 400 participants of the World Economic Forum: investors, entrepreneurs, media representatives learning more about Ukraine’s achievements and partnership opportunities in the IT and investment industry. The main goal of these jointly organized Ukrainian business events was to position Ukraine not only as the new technological leader, but also as the country where the new international R&D centers are being opened and people are making successful investments On July 15, the UVCA Investors Day was held in Odesa for the first time. It was an exclusive event for the global leaders of investment markets and members of UVCA. The program of UVCA Investors Day consisted of several discussion sections, a startup expo-zone and networking in an informal atmosphere Ukraine Discovery Tour took place in May, being held for the third time. Its organizers - Global Shapers Kyiv Hub and UVCA created an amazing program for participants from all around the world to show the hidden side of our country, which is most often left unseen by the visiting delegations

LOBBYING Fund-of-Funds UVCA consistently promotes the Fund-of-Funds (FoF) project, that will invest in existing and new venture funds in Ukraine on a competitive basis, which could finally invest in more than 3000 already existing Ukrainian startups. Implementation of this project will become a catalyst for Ukrainian innovation industry, and increase capital inflows of investments into the country. The Prime Minister supported our proposal to create the Fund-of-Funds. The Head of Government offered to draft a concept of the FoF and combine its activity with the Council of Innovations. Volodymyr Groysman has added that following the discussion and approval of such a concept, the Government will have a chance to take part in the formation of the Fund’s budget. Next steps: - organizing a delegation from European Investment Fund to Ukraine to hold meetings and a workshop for officials, local investors on fundraising and FoF establishment; - signing a letter of intent by Ukrainian government regarding FoF creation.
  12. 12. Corporate Governance in LLC Ukrainian Parliament passed the law on LLC’s Corporate Governance in February 2018. The Law implements international practices in corporate regulation of private companies, sets rules for a pledge for corporation rights, introduces shareholders agreements, protects minority shareholders’ rights as well as allows flexibility of regulation for private company shareholders. The Law will also increase Ukraine’s Doing Business ranking. State investment projects financing The Law simplifies the procedure of obtaining state support for investment projects by changing the role of the State Register of Investment Projects from permissive to informative. It allows projects that have been granted state support, as well as state investment projects, to be put in the State Register of Investment Projects in order to monitor their implementation. Simplification of employment of high quality foreign specialists The Law allows highly skilled foreigners, including those in the IT sector, to obtain the work permit easier. LOBBYING

UA Tech Expo at CES 2018 and the Silicon Valley Tour OUR FIRST PROJECTS OF 2018 For the second time in a row UVCA together with Western NIS Enterprise Fund (WNISEF) have been organizing the UA TECH Pavilion at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) - one of the largest consumer electronics conferences, which will be held on January 9-12,2018, in Las Vegas. Ukraine House during World Economic Forum in Davos, January 2018 OUR FIRST PROJECTS OF 2018 The first-ever Ukraine House, organized by UVCA, during the World Economic Forum in Davos,  Switzerland took place alongside the WEF's Annual Meeting. Ukraine  House ran a week-long venue under the theme: "Ukraine: Creativity,  Innovation, Opportunity." A vibrant hub, it showcased Ukraine to global  leaders from business, politics and civil society, and presented Ukrainian business and investment opportunities. Designed in a contemporary style and located in the very heart of Davos, Ukraine House payed homage to Ukraine’s rich culture and national identity, at the same time, showcasing the country’s IT and technology sectors, sectors that embody the emergence of a new, creative and innovative generation of business leaders and new opportunities. Ukraine House Davos snapshot: • 15+ panel discussions on investment and innovation topics; • speakers from 10 countries; • 1000+ registered visitors; • 12+ hours of live stream; • 80+ hours of UHD’s work.
