WORD FROM CEO Olga Afanasyeva Executive Director of UVCA, PhD in Finance "The mission of UVCA is to build the bridge between Ukrainian and global investment and startup ecosystems, match investors with Ukrainian entrepreneurs. However, we cannot foster the growth of Ukrainian investment market without supporting Ukrainian startups. With this idea, we are initiating and implementing a lot of projects which provide young entrepreneurs with opportunities to present their products on the global market, learn from leading experts and investors” 4
  5. 5. INTRODUCTORY WORD As the world comes together in the crisis, UVCA is continuing to work hard to bring investors and startups together. We provide a strong connection to international institutions, conduct research on the most relevant topics, and organize networking events to make our members feel the support everyone needs now. The world is coming to a new era, that provides us with opportunities we never had before. We can connect more easily with colleagues abroad and organize joint activities to promote businesses worldwide. This report provides detailed information on activities we conduct at the moment, the results of our work, and ideas for future improvement of the investment climate. In the last five years, we have: - conducted dozens of networking events, - represented Ukraine at the World Economic Forum in Davos for 4 years in a row, - brought Ukrainian startups to Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas 3 times, - lobbied a number of laws, - and presented annual reports on the investment market in Ukraine with a coverage of more than 56K+ views. We believe that together we can create a better future, and we do everything in our power to make it happen sooner. Join us in our mission to drive the world to success! 5

UVCA COMMITTEES The committees of the Ukrainian Venture Capital & Private Equity Association (UVCA) are set up to: - work on the most important aspects of the development of Ukrainian investment market, - deepen the cooperation with state authorities and foreign partners, - create the environment with fair rules for all the participants of the innovation and investment ecosystems. 10

LEGAL Committee Chair: Taras Dumych, Partner at Wolf Theiss The Legal Committee has been created to maintain the proper working conditions for the participants of the investment environment in the legislative field of Ukraine. The Committee takes part in the development and lobbying for the draft laws, legislative acts and promptly reacts to changes in Ukraine’s legislative field of the investment sector. UVCA COMMITTEES INVEST IN UKRAINE Committee Chair: Olga Afanasyeva, Executive Director at UVCA The Invest in Ukraine Committee was set up to promote Ukraine’s investment opportunities abroad, and create the image of our country as one where modern innovative products are created according to the international standards. The Committee conducts investment activities both in Ukraine and abroad in order to establish contact with international partners and attract investment to Ukraine. DEALROOM UKRAINE UVCA together with Dealroom.co and partners successfully launched the most extensive startup and venture capital ecosystem platform dedicated to the Ukrainian tech scene to date which will help accurately track any changes on the market. PUBLIC COUNCIL AT THE MINISTRY OF DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION UVCA applied for the public council so to develop the IT ecosystem in Ukraine, represent the experience and expertise of investors, startups. CIVIC TECH SISTERS Mentoring at the program for young female leaders from Ukraine and Germany. The aim is to equip young aspiring female leaders with the knowledge of successful female leaders in the Civic Tech sphere and empower them to shape their own leadership role. 24

Together with Brigitte Baumann - the Founder of an investment company operating in France, UK, USA and Switzerland, European Angel Investor of the Year with 20+ years of experience in bringing new technologies to market in the US and Europe, we held: - Angel investing day for ukrainian investors, elaborated on the current state of the Early Stage Investment in Europe and Ukraine, key elements of building the angel ecosystem, some figures on EU and US. - Meeting with Claude Wild - Ambassador of Switzerland in Ukraine; - Meeting with Alexander Bornyakov - Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation.   34. 34. CROWDFUNDING REPORT Ukrainian startups are increasingly coming out on crowdfunding platforms, including the world's largest ones: Kickstarter and Indiegogo. Released in 2017, Crowdfunding report quickly became one of the "richest" for successful crowdfunding campaigns in the history of Ukrainian start-ups. Ukraine Discovery Tours "Ukraine Discovery Tour" is a project created with the support of World Economic Forum initiatives - international youth organization Global Shapers Kyiv Hub, Young Global Leaders and in partnership with Ukrainian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association. The project is aimed at opening Ukraine for the international community with its success stories and developments, break the stereotypes on its internal transformation and improve the investment climate. We want to show Ukraine as it is - modern and progressive united with Europe, with its potential and progress, as well as to show what "doing business" and "living" in Ukraine looks like. How does it go? Usually, the agenda of the privately organized tours includes meetings with the business leaders, social activists and entrepreneurs, media, IT gurus and other extraordinary and unique people working in different areas and industries for around 3-4 days. We are willing to show the private side of the country ordinarily missed by visiting delegations as well as to create a network of contacts in Ukraine. UVCA EVENTS 49

  51. 51. UVCA together with partners has launched one of the most extensive startup and venture capital ecosystem platform dedicated to the Ukrainian tech scene to date on March 13, 2020. The platform shows all insights about Ukrainian startups, scaleups, corporates, investment by industry and helps international and local investors and other main IT market players to find more about IT ecosystem. UVCA is working with Dealroom.co on the first online map of Ukraine’s IT ecosystem players, which will help accurately track any changes on the market. Now anyone can contribute to the development of the online platform by entering or updating data on startups and technology companies. Together with partners we will be able to build a holistic picture of the Ukrainian ecosystem to serve and inform all local and international players.   53. 53. FINANCIAL HEALTH FORUM IN KYIV Village Capital and MetLife Foundation hosted the financial health forum for early-stage fintech entrepreneurs in Ukraine in 2018. The initiative was focused on identifying fintech startups working to improve financial health for low to moderate income people and small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Village Capital has partnered with UNIT.City and Ukrainian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (UVCA) to convene top fintech stakeholders and recruit eligible startups. 10 startups pitched in a Startup Showcase with 2 of them winning grants totaling USD $10,000 each.
