  9. 9. WHERE DO I CAST MY VOTE? The crowdsourcing In December, 2009, we decided to localize all polling stations in France to make the Facebook app on the previous slide. We soon realized that the data provided by the local administrations wasn’t machine-readable at all. We first tried to capture the missing data points ourselves by hand, but the task was daunting. Instead, we build a basic tool so that web-users could help us capture data. They did so beyond our expectations, as more than 300 persons captured over 12,700 polling stations addresses.
