Our goal with launching a new website is to offer a communication hub for communitymembers and community service organizations to find information, resources and links to their localVolunteer Centres to build the capacity of the volunteer sector in Ontario.” says Network CoordinatorManon Germain.There will be a youth portal to the amazing ChangeTheWorld: Ontario Youth Volunteer Challenge and awide range of resources for non-profit organizations across the province. A new photo/video gallery willallow visitors to see the positive impact that volunteers are making in communities across the province.It’s all part of promoting and developing volunteerism in Ontario. With 6.3 million Ontariansvolunteering a total of 857 million hours annually, the non-profit sector contributes more to the Ontarioeconomy than transportation and construction combined.The Ontario Volunteer Centre Network (OVCN) is an unincorporated network of 24 Volunteer Centresin Ontario, guided by a volunteer steering committee.
