Stepping4ward! 2014 OVCN Conference November 3 - 5, 2014 Kempenfelt Conference Centre Online Registration: Info: Email: Telephone: 1.888.545.2190 What is PREB-Ontario, and how can you benefit from attending this workshop? PREB-Ontario: ‘Building Ontario Communities Through Volunteer Recognition’ allows Ontario Volunteer Centres and non- profit organizations / community groups to create a detailed certificate of achievement for their volunteers. Developed by the Centre d’action bénévole de Québec (CABQ), and brought to you by the Ontario Volunteer Centre Network and its other partners: Volunteer Canada and Volunteer MBC, this bilingual, online program provides enhanced volunteer engagement and recognition practices to strengthen the ongoing legacy of Ontario’s volunteer and non-profit sector via the Toronto 2015 Pan Am and Parapan Am games, and beyond. This initiative recognizes volunteers by formally acknowledging their contributions and providing a professional reference for their volunteer experience which is aligned with the National Occupational Classification (2011). The certificate provided outlines the skills the volunteer has demonstrated and developed, experience earned through volunteering, and highlights special awards or achievements. Attending this session will allow you to learn how to use an exciting new application platform that will allow you to recognize the value of volunteer experience, assist volunteers in their job search, and access volunteer position descriptions. Participants in this workshop will also receive a credentials to access to a free online application, training on the use of the software and the knowledge and ability to support volunteers by recognizing skills and competencies gained through volunteering to support gainful employment or help with their academic requirements. If you are seeking more information, or have other questions please contact the OVCN Conference Action Group via Also, please visit for updates! We look forward to seeing you there, and thank you for your commitment to volunteerism in Ontario!
