  2. 2. The Ministry of Environment and Water of Bulgaria is the responsible institution in Bulgaria for the access of information, regarding the Aarhus Convention.
  3. 3.  The right of information is guaranteed by the Bulgarian Constitution, Law on Access to Public Information, the Law for protection of classified information and a number of other specific laws.  Law on Access to Public Information prom. Issue 59 from 21.07.2006 , changed SG. Issue 49 from 19.06.2007, changed SG. Issue 57 from 13.07. 2007, changed. SG. issue. 104 from 05.12.2008 , changed SG. issue 77 from 1 October 2010, changed. SG. issue.39 from 20 Мay 2011 г.  The Convention for access of information, participation of the community in the decision making process (Aarhus Convention), ratified in Bulgaria with a law, accepted in the National Assembly on 2 October 2016 and valid from 16.03.2004.   4. 4. FEA is a non-profit organization activly working to make the access to information an easier activity for the community. The Foundation organized and held two roud tables, related to the problems with Aarhus Convention in Bulgaria. All the stakeholders were attending the events.
  5. 5. Foundation for Environment and Agriculture is working in cooperation with „Program for access of information“ in Bulgaria in all activities, related to faciliation of the community's awareness.
  6. 6.  The procedures in Bulgaria, related to access of information, are really expensive and time consuming  The organizations and the citizens that want to receive information, should be very pantient and have the needed resources.  The situation in Romania is identical.
  7. 7. Conclusion: The level of access to information in Bulgaria is still far behing the level in the other Member States of the European Union.
