Login to the IBM Sametime System Console and search for the Sametime Policies • https://sscservername:8701/ibm/console 2. Edit „Sametime Instant Messaging Default Policy“ and disable the following features  „The IC notation (IC=integrated client) indicates that the policy setting applies only to the Notes embedded Sametime client, not to the web client“ • Chat section - DISABLE ▪ User must set this community as the default server community (IC) ▪ Allow user to add multiple server communities (IC) ▪ Allow user to add external users using Sametime Gateway communities ▪ Enable organization tree view for this user ▪ Allow user to send offline messages ▪ Allow all Sametime Connect features to be used with integrated clients (IC) ▪ Allow mobile client
  2. 2. • Image Section - DISABLE ▪ Allow screen capture and images (IC) • File Transfer section, Plugin Management section & Mobile section ▪ Do not apply to Sametime limited use 3. Sametime Meetings & Media Policy do not apply to Sametime limited use 4. Save the Policy 5. Create a group in your LDAP Directory for Sametime Full License Users • For Domino environment add a multi-purpose Group 6. Create a new Instant Messaging Policy • Chat section ▪ Select option „Allow all Sametime Connect features to be used with integrated clients (IC)“ to activate all Sametime functions inside IBM Notes Client (IC) ▪ Select any other option you want to assign to your users
  3. 3. 7. Opt. Create a new Meeting Policy and select any options you want to assign to your users 8. Opt. Create a new Media Policy and select any options you want to assign to your users 9. Assing the new policy documents to users or groups • Select the new Policy and press ASSIGN • Select „ADD GROUPS...“
  4. 4. • In the next window enter the groupname and press SEARCH • Select the group and press ASSIGN • and DONE 10. Policy updates could take to 30 minutes until the client will load the new settings  You can force this setting by restarting the IBM Community Server (Domino) and all users need to re-login.
