In a report of Bay Area nonprofits released today by Northern California Grantmakers, The San Francisco Foundation and partners, most respondents (82%) are concerned about sustaining their work with the rising cost of office space.
-Nonprofits serving communities of color and low income communities show an especially high level of concern.
-Nearly two out of every three nonprofits say they’re going to have to make a decision about moving in the next five years. -And steady increases have pushed office prices 122% above the cost five years ago.
Bay Area markets have pushed New York from the top spot and are now the tightest in the nation.
Today’s report is the first for the region as a whole and shows the scope of the issue across Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo and Santa Clara counties.
