16. 1st perspective: STRATEGIC PERSPECTIVE ON LIBRARY INNOVATION • The network was initiated by the strategic management forums of the network partners in 2009. To “hand over” the network to the next generation of library innovators • 2012: The Strategic Group of managers of Akureyri, Helsinki, Oslo, Stockholm and Aarhus isdrafting the strategic challenges of the future for public libraries in the Nordic Countries Lotte Duwe Nielsen & Jannik Mulvad Aarhus Public Libraries

17. • The draft is now discussed by participants and will be the basis for the innovation camp September 2012 • Outcome: A strategic manifest for public libraries of the future Lotte Duwe Nielsen & Jannik Mulvad Aarhus Public Libraries

18. 2nd perspective: BUILDING IDEAS, COMPETENCES AND NETWORK • Ideas and competences (knowledge, skills and attitudes) is developed by involving library staff from the 5 project partners • Personal relations that take-off in creative and personal meetings provide the foundation for further collaboration about strategies, tendencies and future Nordic projects and network Lotte Duwe Nielsen & Jannik Mulvad Aarhus Public Libraries

19. 3rd perspective: DISSEMINATION – IMPACT ON POLICY AND LIBRARY INNOVATION • Dissemination to local, regional and national level in the 5 countries - and to the international level in conferences papers and social media • Methods, ideas, strategies and discussions about library innovation are published online. • Everybody are invited to participate in discussions on the website: http://nordiccamps.ning.com Lotte Duwe Nielsen & Jannik Mulvad Aarhus Public Libraries

20. Impact: Notake-awayproducts, but ideas, methods and network As for us at Reykjavik City Library the camp and everything that happened in Reykjavik….maybe especially the methodology used has been very useful for us. Since last autumn we have been using the "Next Library" way in our work when thinking about the future, Next Reykjavik City Library, for the next three years. In September we shall use a shorter version of the "Next Library" methodology during a workday where all the cultural institutions run by the city will participate. 21. The network stages 3 Camps • 3 creative learning camps invole (at least) 50 library staff per camp across the project partners: • 2010: Reykjavik, Iceland • 2011: Stockholm, Sweden • 2012: Oslo, Norway Lotte Duwe Nielsen & Jannik Mulvad Aarhus Public Libraries
