  2. 2. Purpose of the assessment: vocabularyacquisition.<br /> <br />Level 10-11 <br />Age – 14-16.<br />Aims : Learn to0 assess own performance. Use English in respect to the material studied – Yankee Doodle. <br />Focusing on the language: vocabulary learnt..<br />The assessment is done by the teacher and the students, so called self-assessment <br />   WALK – TALK Oral Test.    <br />The teacher prepares the test that reflects what he has been teaching and what the students are supposed to learn. <br />It looks such a way:<br />

  4. 4.  <br />Pass out the test list to the students to underline the items that they don’t know and to study them and try to learn and use them by the day of the test. Ask the students to change pairs once or twice to get experience with different peers. <br />On test Day the teacher explains the test and grading procedure again. And tells the students the amount of time they have. <br />Walk among them and get ready to answer their questions.<br /> Feedback and Scoring<br /> Simple protocol for testing and scoring.<br />The students do the test, and after they have finished they exchange their tests and ask the partner a certain number of the words and expressions on the list they have marked – they didn’t know, and have studied. <br />The students must circle the words they ask and after the partner answers to write down the number of points for each word and expression. The students decide for themselves the points they thing they deserve and they don’t judge their partner. <br />

The number of points <br />Speaking immediately – 1 point<br />Speaking continuously – 1 point<br />Giving clear and correct explanation – 1 point<br />Speaking English only – 3 points.<br />Grading: <br />From 0 – 50 – unsatisfactory<br />From 50-75 – satisfactory<br />From 75 to 90 – good<br />From 90 to 100- excellent<br />Then the students write the partner’s total points at the bottom of the sheet and turn it in to the teacher for recording.<br /> <br /> <br />
