Contractors can be used for "one off jobs“ - those that require a specialist skill set that isn't retained in house. Work under pressure - Contractors are used to dealing with rapid peaks in a company's workload. Workflow management - Contractors are great at managing workflow whilst you wait for a perm person to join..... the last thing you want is a perm person starting their career with a backlog of work. Headcount - Contractors don't count towards company headcount. Focus – Contractors enable your Permanent staff to focus on their core business, aiding retention.
