  2. 2. This course examines the nature and scope of the power of administrative agencies and the restraints on administrative power imposed by the Constitution, statutes, and common law. Topics covered include the delegation of power to administrative agencies, administrative investigations, the right to be heard, formal and informal decision-making processes and procedures, administrative adjudication and rulemaking, and judicial review of administrative actions. 2 Presentation title 20XX
  3. 3. 3 Presentation title 20XX By the end of this course, you should: • appreciate the origins of administrative law and understand how administrative law relates to other areas of public law; • appreciate the scope of delegated power in governance and the role of the courts in supervising the exercise of this power; • understand the procedural obligations imposed on administrative decision-makers; • understand the jurisdiction of the courts in policing administrative decision-making; • understand the substantive legal principles governing judicial review of administrative decision-making; and, • understand the remedies available to applicants on judicial review.
