  4. 4. A country of rules <ul><li>Saudi Arabia is a Muslim country in which Islamic law is strictly enforced. No other religion is permitted. </li></ul><ul><li>Muslims are called to prayer five times a day.   5. 5. People frequently wear their national costume and women must cover up when out in public. <ul><li>Women are not allowed to drive </li></ul>
  6. 6. There is no alcohol allowed in the Kingdom. Anyone found smuggling it in will be put in prison. <ul><li>Muslims don’t eat pork and therefore it is also banned. </li></ul>
  7. 7. The King rules the country and what he says, goes! <ul><li>Saudi Arabia has 20% of the worlds oil and this means the country is very important to all nations around the world . </li></ul>
  8. 8. During the holy month of Ramadan people are not allowed to eat or drink during daylight hours. <ul><li>Single people are not allowed to mix with the opposite genders. </li></ul><ul><li>Restaurants have two sides, one for families and one for single men. </li></ul>
  9. 9. <ul><li>There is no gambling allowed. </li></ul><ul><li>The internet and TV is constantly monitored by authorities. </li></ul><ul><li>Saudi people are very private people and often live in houses with high walls around them. </li></ul>
  10. 10. Guess what days the weekends are? <ul><li>Thursday and Friday! Friday is the holy day. </li></ul><ul><li>Imagine going to school on Saturday and Sundays! Ahh.. </li></ul>
