GEN Z
are the first true digital natives, and we are the
ones paying the price. A recent ORIGIN study
found that 48% of Gen-Z respondents said social

depressed and that 58% are seeking relief from
social media.
the application of knowledge for achieving
practical goals in a reproducible way. The word
technology can also mean the products resulting
from such efforts, including both tangible tools
such as utensils or machines, and intangible ones
such as software.
TECHNOLOGY
facilitates the sharing of ideas and information through
virtual networks. From Facebook and Instagram to
Twitter and YouTube, social media covers a broad
universe of apps and platforms that allow users to
share content, interact online, and build communities.
More than 4.7 billion people use social media, equal to
roughly 60% of the world’s population.
SOCIAL MEDIA
is the practice of individuals looking after their own
health using the knowledge and information
available to them. It is a decision-making process
that empowers individuals to look after their own
health efficiently and conveniently, in collaboration
with health and social care professionals as needed.

What is digital communication
for students?
What is digital communication for students?
Digital Communication is communication among other students,
parents, and teachers, using various forms of digital media. The
media can consist but is not limited to, emailing, texting, blogging,
facebook, and discussion boards.
Communication is not only verbal, but also non-verbal: you should
ensure that the signals you are giving out through your body
language are positive, confident, and engaging. For example,
making eye contact with students when you are talking to them
shows that you are being supportive and attentive.
The best way to communicate with
teachers is to show them that you
value their time. Meet them in their
classroom rather than your office, turn
off notifications on your phone and
computer, and open the conversation
by asking questions. Show teachers
that you know their time is valuable
and that their voices matter.
RESPECTFUL Digital Communication
What does digital respect mean?
Digital Etiquette refers to electronic standards
of conduct or procedures and has to do with
the process of thinking about others when
using digital devices.
Digital Respect is making a conscious choice
to respect others online and on mobile phones.
Digital Respect is also using technology
respectfully – that is – not for the purposes of
harming others or spreading rumors.
Why is digital respect important?
Qualities of a good digital citizen A positive digital citizen:
Advocates for equal digital rights and access for
all.
Treats others with respect in online spaces and
never cyberbullies.
Does not steal or damage others' digital work,
identity or property. ( Memes)
Makes appropriate decisions when communicating
through a variety of digital channels.
Digital boundaries
Is it okay to tag you in posts or check-in places together?
Do we post our relationship status publicly?
Is it okay to follow or friend other people in my life?
What are the expectations for communication through
texting or social media?
Is it okay to use each other's devices, and when if so?
LOVE and RESPECT
What are digital boundaries?
Simply put, digital boundaries are property lines
designed to optimize the positives and minimize the
negatives of the digital world.
When you have reasonable property lines, the
digital world becomes your servant and not your
master.
It's often the other way around for many of us these
days.
Is not a set of rules for others to do but you setting
your rule for yourself to follow!
Three most important boundaries
The three most important boundaries every person
deals with are:
personal space, private property, and political
boundaries.
Personal space boundaries are the boundaries we
keep when interacting publicly with others, such as
on a bus, in an elevator, or in school hallways,
private property, and political boundaries.
BARRIERS TO SETTING BOUNDARIES:
FEAR of rejection and/or abandonment.
FEAR of confrontation and upsetting
someone.
GUILT or shame.
Not knowing how.
Establishing boundaries :
Self-care
Maintaining self-respect and feelings of
empowerment
Positive self-esteem
Feeling satisfaction in your relationships
Balancing your needs with the needs of others
Getting your needs and wants met.
Having power over your life
Overall happiness
Learn how to manage your digital life,
not simply manage to get by
1.Turn Off Notifications.
I know what you’re thinking, “I don’t need to turn
off notifications, I can just ignore them.” Or “I can’t
possibly turn them off, what if I miss an important
news headline or sports score?”
2.Limit Your Newsfeed Check-Ins.
Learn how to manage your digital life,
not simply manage to get by
3. Protect Your Consolidation Time.
4.Set Up Safeguards.
5.Model Digital Citizenship.
Is there really a need for us to set
boundaries?
Communication is key.
Use it wisely
