  4. 4.  Introduction to leap motion technology  Leap Motion is a computer hardware sensor device that supports hand and finger motions as input, analogous to a mouse, but requiring no hand contact or touching.  It is a miracle in computer interaction field.  It is a breakthrough in computer interaction using a patented mathematical approach to 3D,touch free motion sensing and motion control software.  Say good bye to mouse and keyboard.  Its more accurate than mouse and keyboard
  5. 5.  History of leap motion  Leap Motion is founded by Michael Buckwald & David Holtz in 2010 at San Francisco.  Leap Motion publicly announced its first product, originally called The Leap, on May 21, 2012 for $30.  The device started full-scale shipping in July 2013.
  6. 6.  What is leap motion technology?  Use an array of infrared sensors, Motion detecting algorithm is the secret, Consumes only 1-2% of the central processing unit (C.P.U.),Does not require the use of a graphics processing unit  The Leap Motion controller is a small USB peripheral device which is designed to be placed on a physical desktop, facing upward. Using two monochromatic cameras and three infrared LEDs, the device observes a roughly hemispherical area, to a distance of about 1 meter (3 feet). The LEDs generate a 3D pattern of dots of IR light and the cameras generate almost 300 frames per second of reflected data, which is then sent through a USB cable to the host computer, where it is analyzed by the Leap Motion controller software using "complex math“
