  9. 9. My View of the Market  2012 is off to a quick start.  The number of homes under contract is 21.5%. Which is a 7% improvement from a year ago.  The number of properties that sold during January was just about equal to where it was last year.  Fewer new listings have come on the market so far this year.  The total number of homes that have gone under contract so far this year is almost exactly the same as 2010 and 2011.
