Flowchart of admission process in colleges
1. FLOW CHART is a diagram that uses
graphic symbols to represent the nature
and flow of the steps in a process. It’s
purpose is to give a visual representation of
a process.
2. To
understand a
process by
explaining
steps
pictorially.
Define and
analyze
processes.
Communicate
steps to other
people
involved in a
process.
Standardize a
process.
Improve a
process.
Identify bo
ttlenecks,
or
troublesho
ot a
problem.
3. SYMBOLS USED IN
FLOW CHART
ï‚— - Start & end points
ï‚— - Input or output
ï‚— - One step in the process
ï‚— - Decision Box
ï‚— - Flow Lines
ï‚— - Link to another page or
another flowchart
4. TYPES OF FLOW CHART
There are three major form of Flowcharts. These are:
Macro: High Level Overview; Entire Process; Links
with other Processes (the Big Picture)
Micro: Operational Level; Practical Links between
Inputs & Outputs; Operational Measurements
& Controls
Hyper-Micro: Design Level; Details into Operator
Methods; Material or Information (Input)
Specification (Accuracy & Precision);
System Functionality
5. Macro Flowchart
Shows only the major steps of the process
Includes only 6-8 steps
Used to understand or communicate a big-picture view
of the major steps in a process
Used before drawing a more detailed flow chart
Decisions, delays, and recycle loops are usually not
shown on macro flow charts
Only symbols needed are rectangles & arrows

chart.
•Through this we learnt about the troubles faced by the applicant.
•We learnt about various objects used in flowchart.
•Through this flow chart , university identifies all its problems
and take necessary steps in minimizing their error.
