  1. 1. HYPNOTHERAPY GOLDCOAST: “DEPRESSION – ANGER WITHOUT ENTHUSIASM”
  2. 2. As a Hypnotherapistand NLP practitioner,I take a relativelysimple approach toDepression.
  3. 3. While each individuals depression isunique, the common element I find withdepressed people, is that they findthemselves rendered virtuallyincapable of imagining a future that isattractive, compelling or worthwhile tothem personally.
  4. 4. In other words, they believe they havenothing worthwhile to look forward to.
  5. 5. When they cast their mental gaze and imagination in the direction of the future,
  6. 6. they are convinced that all that awaitsthem is more boredom, hurt, let down, futility and disappointment.
  7. 7. Nothing to look forward to.
  8. 8. Let me tell you, when you believe, andin fact are convinced, that there isnothing to look forward to, THAT’SDEPRESSING !
  9. 9. In fact, it’s enough to depress anyone,and I mean anyone!
  10. 10. Usually, people that find themselves inthis predicament, have experienced aseries of hurts, disapointments andlet downs that have hurt them to thepoint where they feel downright angry.
  11. 11. In the abscence of knowing how torelease this anger in harmless, nonviolent ways, most people then attemptto “disconnect themselves fromtheir feelings of hurt, dissapointment, resentment andanger which feel almost to painful oroverwhelming to deal with.
  12. 12. In the process of disconnecting fromthese overwhelming feelings theperson then literally disconnects fromall their emotions including theircapacity to experience happiness andjoy.
  13. 13. At this stage friends and relatives maycomment or observe that they seem tohave lost their smile.
  14. 14. So, in other words, the depressedperson, has in effect, attempted toprotect themselves from feelings thatfeel overwhelming and negative, and inthe process, disconnected themselvesfrom their true feelings to the point,
  15. 15. where their ability to feel andexperience all emotions includingpositive ones is largely negated, alongwith their ability and capacity toimagine a compelling and worthwhilefuture.
  16. 16. Hence, Depression.
  17. 17. My job, as a Hypnotherapist, is then tohelp my client identify, reconnect to,and safely release the overwhelmingfeelings from the past, and to transformand reframe the limiting decisions andjudgements that came with them.
