  3. 3. with various mixtures and blendsbetween categories, of course, as everyone’s unique.
  4. 4. Your personality is something in-born, and while differentpersonality types are more prone to having certain problems and issues in the mind,
  5. 5. it is impossible for hypnotherapy to change your basic underlying personality type,
  6. 6. any more than hypnosis canchange the colour of your hair or your height.
  7. 7. We’ve chosen to use the labels of the four Pythagorean elements (Earth, Air, Fire and Water) to name the four types,
  8. 8. with Earth representing what was classically known as the phlegmatic type,
  9. 9. Air corresponding to sanguine
  10. 10. Fire to choleric
  11. 11. and Water to melancholic.
  12. 12. These might not be quite theelements associated with the four types in classical Pythagorean philosophy,
  13. 13. but it fits well with the way that we use language to describe these types.
