272 from 9 to 19

  1. 1. From 9 to 19?A message from JesusIve created you to grow up in stages. One reason for that is toteach you patience, which is one of the most important lessonsin life, and one that you begin to learn when you are young. When you are young, there is a lot thatyou’d like to do; you want to go places andsee and do things that older people getto do, but if you grew up too quickly, youwouldnt gain the patience and humility thatyou will need when you are older in orderto do your job orinteract well with yourfriends or family.Patiently sharing God’sWord with othersPatiently cooking anotherdinner for your familyPatiently keeping anoffice inventory
  2. 2. Just imagine if Ihad made thingsso that it onlytook a year foryou to grow up,learn everything, and become anadult. You mightthink that wouldbe nice. You wouldskip most of thegrowing stages bygoing from babyto adult in oneleap. But then yourlife would be offbalance, becauseyou wouldntgain the skillsand emotionaland spiritualmaturity thatone learnsthrough timeand experience. Also, youwouldnt havegained patienceand humility.knowledgewisdomskillI did an excellentjob of decorating a cakeon my f irst try!In one year I haveread and understood theentire Bible—I no longerneed to study it!I barely had tostudy and I already knowhow to drive!

Savor each stage of growth and know that it isall part of the process to help you become what Iwant you to be.Let’s not get tired of doing what is good.At just the right time we will reap a harvest ofblessing if we don’t give up (Galatians 6:9 NLT).Did you know that patience is a fruit of Jesus’Spirit in our lives? Find out more in “Power-UpDevotional #7: Spirit Fruit: Patience.”Tell me the nameof the prophet Jeremiah’sscribe, right now!I want that cakeNOW! What is takingyou so long?Youre blockingthe road!
