DISBURSEMENTS• You will receive an email notification once an EFT has been processed.• Look for the funds in your bank account 1-3 business days following the disbursement.• Remember that you can access the donation information as soon as the donation is made and don’t need to wait for a disbursement to happen in order to begin donor recognition.

  23. 23. 1. Donate Now! Button• The donor has made a donation by linking through the Donate Now! button on your charity’s website.
  24. 24. 2. Website Charity Search• The donor found your charity through the CanadaHelps search and made a donation.• Donors can search by name, charitable business number, keyword, area of interest, or location.
  25. 25. 3. Donor Favourite• The donor has chosen you charity as one of their favourite charities to donate to through CanadaHelps.
  26. 26. 4. Scheduled Giving• The donor has set up a donation schedule to donate to your charity monthly.
  27. 27. 5. Charity Gift Card• The donor has chosen to donate their Charity Gift Card to your charity.
  28. 28. 6. GivingPage• The donor donated through a CanadaHelps GivingPage.• You will see the name of the person/group that set up the GivingPage in the Honouree field.
  29. 29. 7. Securities Donate Securities to Give securities: stocks, your Favourite bonds, & mutual funds Charities! to this charity. Click here!• The donor has donated gifts of securities to your charity.
  30. 30. DONATE NOW! BUTTON• Under the LINK tab of your MyCharity account, you can find the HTML code to add the button to your website.• The first step is to choose the set of buttons you like best.• They are available in English and French.
  31. 31. • Once you choose an image, HTML code is automatically generated. All you have to do is add this code to your website’s existing HTML.• If you are unsure of what to do with the code, ask your charity’s website personnel to assist you.
  32. 32. Donate Now! Button Tips• Place the Donate Now! button in a prominent place on the main page of your website.• Make it easy to find. Put it on every page.• Make sure the link works.• The button is not just for your website– add it to your email newsletters and blog.

  34. 34. 1. Donor Recognition• Recognize donors in a timely way.• Remember to include CanadaHelps donors in your charity’s regular donor recognition programs.
  35. 35. 2. Card Requests• Fulfill card requests made by your donors.• Check to see if donors have made requests with their donation in “Web Reports” under the DONATIONS tab.
  36. 36. 3. Receipts• Remember that CanadaHelps issues the tax receipts for the donations through our site.• You must not issue receipts to the donors or to CanadaHelps.
  37. 37. 4. T3010 Reporting• Declare the donations you receive from CanadaHelps under: “Total amount received from other registered charities”
  38. 38. 5. Non-charitable Payments• Do not use CanadaHelps to process non- charitable gifts (i.e. event registrations, memberships, product purchases, etc.)
  39. 39. 6. Anonymity• Remember that donations can be made anonymously.• CanadaHelps respects donor privacy and will not give a donor’s information if they have requested to remain anonymous.

  45. 45. Create Project Specific Pages A CanadaHelps GivingPage is a tool that provides new and easy ways for your organization to fundraise for a specific campaign or project
  46. 46. Peer to Peer Fundraising CanadaHelps GivingPages also provide new ways for your donors to fundraise on your behalf! Create a GivingPage for: • Sports events • Weddings • Birthdays • Memorials • Graduation
