Today… <ul><li>We will be focusing on how to create an effective PowerPoint for our next class project. </li></ul><ul><li>Your mission: </li></ul><ul><li>You are a travel agent, trying to convince your audience to take this trip to your favorite destination. </li></ul><ul><li>You will be using PowerPoint and slideshare (www.slideshare.net) for this project, or a predesigned template if desired. </li></ul>

Things to remember… <ul><li>Know your topic, this is your presentation </li></ul><ul><li>Be organized and consistent </li></ul><ul><li>Practice and be sure how to pronounce the words you are using </li></ul><ul><li>Use handouts, create a travel brochure </li></ul><ul><li>Know your audience and thank them for listening </li></ul><ul><li>Have fun! </li></ul>
  4. 4. Images <ul><li>Your eyes are the gateway to your mind. Images are communication. </li></ul><ul><li>Use photos rather than clip art. </li></ul><ul><li>One image per page and leave white space. </li></ul><ul><li>Make sure the pictures are consistent with your theme. </li></ul><ul><li>Pictures can provide information. </li></ul><ul><li>http://images.google.com </li></ul>

Transition from slide to slide <ul><li>As in writing, make sure that the audience sees a clear and comprehensible transition. </li></ul><ul><li>Your first slide needs to introduce your topic </li></ul><ul><li>Place your least important slide in the middle of the presentation. </li></ul><ul><li>End with a question and answer slide, allow time for this. </li></ul>

Font <ul><li>Do not use more than 2 fonts from the same type face family </li></ul><ul><li>Decorative fonts need to align with the theme of your presentation </li></ul><ul><li>Serif fonts are highly readable and allow for ease of eye movement, e.g. Comic Sans </li></ul><ul><ul><li>http://www.urbanfonts.com/fonts/serif-fonts.htm </li></ul></ul><ul><li>DO NOT USE ALL CAPITAL LETTERS </li></ul><ul><li>Make sure the font is not too large or too small </li></ul>
